Levonia Blalock Cooper

Levonia Blalock Cooper, 92, of Greensboro, GA, died April 15, 2004 at Green Acres Nursing Home in Milledgeville. She was born in Coosa County, AL on May 12, 1911 to the late Green Benjamin Blalock and Sarah Jane McKinnon Blalock. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Park United Methodist Church of Birmingham, AL for over 50 years where she was active in the Womens Society of Christian Service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, P.Z. Cooper. She is survived by a daughter, Jane Haley and husband Bob of Greensboro, GA; a sister, Attie Nelson of Nashville, TN; 3 grandchildren, Don Haley and wife Joy of Houston, TX, Karen Lukens and husband John of Lilburn, GA, and David Haley and wife Ashley of Pleasant Valley, NY; 7 great-grandchildren, David Lukens, Libby Lukens, Ben Haley, Sarah Haley, Madison Haley, Anna Haley, and Lauren Haley; and a number nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 19, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the historic sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church in Eatonton with Rev. Steve Winter officiating. Interment services will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, AL. Serving as pallbearers are Don Haley, David Haley, John Lukens, Charles Cooper, Clark Evans and Claude Grizzard. The family requests in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to your favorite charity or to the Central Park United Methodist Church, 4616 Terrace R, Birmingham, AL 35208.
