Leonora Mary Pollard Winslow 92, of Eatonton Georgia, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Boswell Parker Health and Rehabilitation Center in Greensboro, Georgia. Leonora was born in Cedarville, Michigan on May 17, 1924 to Samuel James Pollard of Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan and Amie Tassier Pollard of Cedarville, Michigan. The seventh of nine children, she was raised in Cedarville and graduated from Cedarville High School in 1944. On September 28, 1946, she married Alvin Alexander Winslow at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Hessel, Michigan and they spent 46 happy years together. Leonora worked as a sales clerk and cashier for Sears and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross. Her most rewarding job was being a loving wife and wonderful mother. Leonora and Alvin lived in Royal Oak Michigan where they raised their family. After the death of her husband she moved to Tuscon, Arizona and lived with her daughter Ruth Ann Winslow. In 2010 she moved from Tucson, Arizona to Eatonton, Georgia to live with her son Timothy Winslow and daughter in law Patricia. Some of her favorite activities were reading, crocheting, puzzles and travel. Leonora was a member of Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Alexander Winslow, and all of her siblings, James Pollard, Aloysious (Doris) Pollard, Marjorie (William) O’Brien, John (Elizabeth) Pollard, Leonard Pollard, Emma Mae Pollard, Lorraine Pollard, and George Pollard. She is survived by her children Ruth Ann Winslow, Barbara Prested, Carolyn (Dale) Miller, Thomas (Karen) Winslow, Patricia (Thomas) Mullen, Terry (Alexandria) Winslow and Timothy (Patricia) Winslow as well as 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and sister in laws Jeanne Baker Bachula and Nadine McKenzie Pollard.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held on June 9, 2017 at 11:30 am at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Hessel, Michigan with Father Peter Fosu officiating. She will be buried in the Cedar Cemetery in Michigan. In lieu of flowers donations be made to The OLS St Vincent de Paul Society P.O.
