Leo Joseph “Lee” Wade, Jr., age 57, of Union Point, GA, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.  Born in Augusta, GA on April 25, 1959, he was the son of Joyce Bell Wade Dauler of Fort Washakie, WY and the late Dr. Leo Joseph Wade, Sr.  Lee graduated from Nathanael Greene Academy and went on to attend Young Harris College and Georgia Southern College.  During high school and college, he was the lifeguard at the Greene County Country Club in Union Point and later was the shop manager.  Lee was an avid sportsman who enjoyed watching baseball, football and golf.  He had an amazing memory and knew all of the sports statistics.  All of his life he was interested in history and was a true history buff.  He also enjoyed listening to country music.

Survivors include his mother, Joyce Dauler of Fort Washakie, WY; brothers, Curtis Hudson Wade (Donna) of St. Simons, GA and Matthew Thomas Wade (Amy) of Monticello, GA; sister Elizabeth DeMent Wade of California and Wisconsin; other relatives and many friends.
 
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Callaway Chapel, 208 N. Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with the Reverend Bill Combs officiating.  Interment will follow in Wisteria Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA.  Serving as pallbearers are Dr. Harry “Bo” Cheves, Wayne Long, Scott Baynes, Mike McCommons, Robert Bradley and his nephews, William Curtis Wade and William Hudson Wade.  The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until time for the service at the funeral home.  The family requests any memorials be made to Hospice Atlanta, Emory University Hospital, 1364 Clifton Road, Unit 5G, Atlanta, GA 30322.  Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
