"Little Lee" Greensboro, Georgia
Lee Whichard of Greensboro, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the age of 44. A lifelong resident of Greene County, Little Lee was born January 3, 1964 to the late Clyde Lafayette Whichard and Jane Parker of Greensboro. Many community members remember Little Lee when he worked as an orderly at Minnie G. Boswell Hospital. Not only did he enjoy a guitar, music and dancing, but also riding horses, 4-wheelers and riding on the “Love Boat” on Lake Oconee. Cooking out with his family and friends and going to the rodeo, where he won many ribbons, were his favorite pastimes. He loved his doctors and the American Flag. He received his graduation diploma from Morgan County High School.
Little Lee is survived by his mother, Jane Parker of Greensboro; a sister, Mandy Parker Snider and husband Robert of Greensboro; an uncle, Joe Parker; an aunt, Catherine Boswell; cousins, Donna Smith and husband Larry, Brad and Bo Smith, Rene Strickland and husband Michael, Allison Laux and husband Dusty, Joely Nichlson and husband Matt; along with Hayden and Connor Strickland and Sam and Jonah Laux; grandparents, Dr. Lee Parker and Carolyn Reynolds Parker; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Martha Parker.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Greensboro, GA with Rev. Michael Hardy, The Rev. D. Geoffrey Taylor and Rev. Wayne Usry officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Bill Crawford Jr., Matt Thackston, Dale Thomas, Jeff Thurmond, Faron Beal, Joe Harris, Tommy Underwood, Jimmy Peugh and Scott Montgomery. Honorary pallbearers are Jeffery Smith, Ricky Easley, Mike Jarrard, Reggie Jarrard, Ann Wilson, Mike Bradley, Herbie Thurmond, Corry Copelan, Tic Jarrard and Charles Crumbley. Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday night at the Funeral Home. The family wishes to thank Athens Regional Medical Center, his doctors, Minnie G. Boswell Hospital and especially Dr. Bill Rhodes for the special care and attention he received.
