Laura Lee Jordan Ellington of Crawfordville, GA passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Greene Point Health Care in Union Point, GA.  Born June 16, 1922 in Atlanta, GA, Laura was the youngest of two children born to the late Edward Corilla Jordan and Bertha Gordon Andrews Jordan.  She graduated from Alexander Stephens Institute in the class of 1939. On October 24, 1943 she married Jefferson Paul Ellington, Jr.  Together they owned and operated J. P. Ellington & Company in Crawfordville.  Following Paul’s death in 1982, she continued to operate the business until it closed in 1997.  She was a faithful member of Crawfordville Baptist Church.  Mrs. Ellington loved her family, her church, anything Crawfordville, traveling, and Thursdays with her faithful friend, Emily Rutherford.   

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jefferson Paul Ellington, Jr. and her brother, Edward Jordan. Survivors include a daughter, Paula Stewart (Charles) of Crawfordville, GA; son, Larry Ellington (Virginia) of Cornelia, GA; grandchildren, Saralyn Fulcher (Michael), Leila Holbrook (Andy), Caroline Domogala (Mark), Kathleen Stewart, Lori Allison (James) and Robbin Dorminey (Greg); great grandchildren, Charlie Fulcher, Laura Kate Fulcher, Andrew Holbrook, Kyle Holbrook, Claire Domogala, Skylar Allison, and Matthew Whyte (Morgan); other relatives and numerous friends.

Funeral Services will be held, Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Crawfordville Baptist Church, 142 Memorial Drive, Crawfordville, GA 30631 with Bob Beeland officiating.  Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Fulcher, Andy Holbrook, Mark Domogala, Matthew Whyte, David Griffith and Doug Brown. Visitation will be held on Saturday from noon till 1:00 p.m. at the church.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family requests that any memorials be made to the Crawfordville Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Donna Taylor, P O Box 238, Crawfordville, GA 30631.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
