Kevin Christopher Byrne

Kevin Christopher Byrne, age 71, a resident of Reynolds at Lake Oconee, Greensboro, GA, died on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospice House in Watkinsville, GA.  Kevin was born on April 29, 1946, in Broxbourne Hertfordshire, England to the late Peter Joseph Byrne and Mary Bridget Devlin Byrne.  He received the equivalent of a Bachelor of Science degree from a local Hertfordshire college.  He married his wife of forty-one years, Barbara Ann Blattner on December 18, 1976.  His career began at St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, England and continued in the medical field  until his last position with Siemens Medical twelve years ago, where he retired in 2006 as Zone Vice President of Service.  After he retired, he and his wife, Barbara, moved from Crystal Lake, IL to Reynolds in Greensboro, GA, where he enjoyed golfing and was a member of Reynolds Men’s Golf Association.  Over the years he also enjoyed  boating, hiking, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, fishing, helping with Habitat, cards, traveling and spending the summer in Wisconsin with family.

In addition to his wife, Barbara Blattner of Greensboro, GA, he is survived by a sister, Dympna Pyle of Ambleside, England; a brother, Anthony “Ant” Byrne (Janet) of Great Longstone, England; nieces and nephews: David Pyle of Oxford, England, Hugh Pyle of Salem, MA, Catherine Pyle of Guildford, England and Chris Pyle of Lancaster, England, Sean Byrne, (Chris McCosh) of Chiswick, London and Clare Boothe (Sean) of Reigate, Surry, England; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Zuckerman (Don) of Fort Lauderdale, FL and their daughter, Jennifer Zuckerman; other relatives and friends; and his beloved dog Sandy.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday February 21^st  2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Our King & Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Father Roberto Herrera officiating.
