Kenneth Leven Blackwell of White Plains, Georgia passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019 at his home, surrounded by family and friends. He was 73 years old. Born in Waco, Texas on March 9, 1946 he was the son of the late Lawrence Leven Blackwell and Ruie Geneva Briley Blackwell. He was a graduate of North Druid Hills High School in Atlanta, Georgia. Kenneth was the Vice President of B&B Beauty Supply, retiring from this position in 2000. When he ultimately retired in 2008, he was the owner of C&S Docks.
Survivors include his daughters, Amanda Blackwell Cain (Samuel "Sam") of Birmingham, Alabama and Angelique Blackwell Allen (Steven) of Duluth, Georgia; brother, Lawrence "Larry" Wayne Blackwell (Donna) of Greensboro, Georgia; and two grandchildren, Grace Elizabeth Allen and Jonathan Blackwell Cain; other relatives and many friends.
He had a lifelong love of fishing, often rousing a friend or family member to get up early and go fishing. He also loved watching old movies, especially any movie with John Wayne. He was an avid reader, and enjoyed reading Sherlock Holmes mysteries. Lake Oconee was his adopted home, and he loved nothing better than spending time at the lake with his beloved dog, Shadow.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at the funeral home.
