Kathryn Armour Tuggle

Kathryn Armour Tuggle, age 88, of Union Point, GA, died Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Greene Point Health and Rehab.  She was born in Philomath, GA on November 14, 1926 to the late William Mack Armour and Ethel Harrison Armour.  She graduated from Oglethorpe County High School and on March 16, 1947 Kathryn married William Thornton “Bud” Tuggle.  She was a knitter for Chipman Union and retired after 18 years.  Kathryn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Union Point, the WMU and the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class.  She enjoyed being with her family, listening to the Braves ballgames, gardening and growing roses.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bud Tuggle in February of 2002; siblings William Allen Armour and Betty Jane Lynn; and son-in-law, Jimmy Baynes.  Survivors include, her daughter, Kay Tuggle Baynes of Union Point, GA; her son, Donald Tuggle of Union Point, GA; grandchildren, Casey Baynes and his wife Tracey of Watkinsville, GA, Gatewood “Jim” Baynes and his wife Lisa of Union Point, GA, and Adam Baynes and his wife Jamison of Madison, GA; great grandchildren, J. C. Baynes, Kati Baynes, Emma Baynes, Aly Baynes and William Baynes; and siblings, Max Armour of Philomath, GA, Norman Armour of Crawford, GA, Lillian Mapp of Dayton, OH, Fannie Thompson of Mt. Airy, GA, Sarah Field of Douglasville, GA and Martha Margolin of Dallas, GA.
 
Funeral Services will be held, Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 206 Thornton Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Marc Lhowe officiating.  The family will receive friends, Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at the church.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA  30669.  Serving as pallbearers are Gene Lindsey, Dee Lindsey, Elliott Lindsey, Paul Jackson, Ricky Newsom, and Mark Higdon.  The family requests any memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, 206 Thornton Street, Union Point, GA 30669.  Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
