Kathie J. Godbee

Kathie J. Godbee, age 59, of Siloam, Georgia, died Wednesday, February 19, 2003. She was born in Lafayette County, Mississippi, October 2, 1943 to Naomi Credille of Siloam, GA and the late Russell Milton Jackson. She was a homemaker and loved people and flowers. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro and graduated from Greene County High School in 1961.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Randall Godbee, of Siloam, GA; two daughters, Melanie Burt of Siloam Georgia and Angie Ellington of Athens, GA; one son, James Hal "Jim" Thurmond of Wrayswood, GA; one stepsister, Renee Poss of Siloam, GA; 2 stepbrothers, Barry Credille of Siloam, GA and William C. Credille Jr. of Atlanta, GA.; and 4 grandchildren, Chasity Allen, Jacob "Bubba" Callaway, Carrie Anne Burt and Naomi "Nicky" Gabriel; and one great grandchild, Taylor Lorraine Allen.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Greensboro with Rev. Jimmy A. Long, Rev. Dennis Garner and Richard Lockery officiating. Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Darryl Marchman, Terry Callaway, Laurie Frank Rodgers II, David Dunagan, Freddie Godbee and David W. Allen. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home. The family requests that any memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 1060 Gaines School Road, Suite B-2, Athens, GA 30605. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
