Julia Bennett Barnhart White, 89, of McDonough, Georgia, formerly of Union Point died on Monday, August 5, 2013 at Social Circle Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Julia was born in Union Point, GA on December 27, 1923 the daughter of the late Robert Kelsey Barnhart and Dora Mae Giles Barnhart. She graduated from Union Point High School. After high school, she worked a while in Security at Richway, but most of her life she was a homemaker. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church. Julia was an avid gardener enjoying Irises and Daylilies, of which she had 140 different varieties. She also enjoyed sewing, making quilts and upholstering furniture.
She is survived by a daughter, Cindy Fawcett and her husband Brad of McDonough, GA; two sons, Michael Bennett Bryant and his wife Joyce of Loganville, GA and Keith Bryant of Ft. Myers, FL; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; three step children, Jewel Owens of Cornelia, GA, Hal White of McDonough, GA and Kenneth White of McDonough, GA. In addition to her husband, Harry Winford White, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Nadine McDaniel; a son, Barry Bryant; a grandson, Blake Bryant; and siblings, Lila Moore, Bobby Barnhart and Kelsey Barnhart.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 9, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Callaway Funeral Home Chapel, 208 N. Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Jimmy Glaze officiating. Burial will follow in the Penfield Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Dennis Bryant, Grant Nail, Glenn Bryant, Cliff Bryant, Garner Stephens, Greg Bryant, Ronnie Ogletree and Ira Richter. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Callaway Funeral Home in Union Point. Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
