Julia Edwards Obituary

Julia Frances Stewart Edwards, 79, of White Plains, Georgia died Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at Providence Health Care Center in Sparta. A life long resident of White Plains, she was born March 20, 1924 in Greene County to the late Robert HarrisStewart and Alice Irene Marchman Stewart. She attended White Plains School and Greensboro High School. She was a homemaker and worked as a waitress at Holcomb''s BBQ in White Plains. She was a member of Mt. Stephens Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wallace Clifton Edwards. She is survived by two sisters, Dena Pittman of Sandersville, GA and Nina Hollis of Lizella, GA and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 9, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Stephens Baptist Church in White Plains with Rev. Dennis Garner officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mike Franklin, Jimmy Pittman, Ronnie Brewer, Ellis Morgan, Charlie Edwards and Jimmy Edwards. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday night at the Funeral Home. The family requests that memorials be made to Mt. Stephens Baptist Church.
