Judith Ann McGovern, 67, of Greensboro died on February 18, 2012. A native of of Baltimore Maryland, Judy was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Dorothy Ford.
Judy, a member of Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, served as a Extraordinary Minister, a member of the Altar Society, and Women''s Guild. Judy cherished her role in educating the children of the parish as a Faith Formation instructor; she also served as an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Lake Oconee Elks Lodge #2829.
Judy is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Richard (Dick) McGovern, daughter Kendall, son James and his wife Melissa, granddaughters, Kayla and Alaina, grandsons, Nicholas and Gabriel. Also surviving are brothers Robert and Kenneth Ford (Diane) of Baltimore MD, Lawrence T. McGovern (Laulie), of Virginia Beach VA, Reverend Monsignor James O. McGovern of Baltimore Maryland and His Eminence Cardinal James Francis Stafford of Vatican City Italy.
Judy will be missed and fondly remembered by extended family and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Monsignor James O. McGovern and Very Reverend G. Philip Ryan, V.F. officiating. The McGovern family requests memorial donations be made to Archdiocese of Baltimore, Catholic Social Services, Adoption Services, 2601 N.
