Joyce Ann Power Kitchens

Joyce Ann Power Kitchens, age 82, of Madison, GA died Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Putnam General Hospital in Eatonton. Ms. Kitchens was born on May 8, 1933, in Milledgeville, GA, as the daughter of the late Willie Bertrand Power and Sadie Mae West Power. She graduated from Baldwin County High School. Along with being a homemaker, Joyce worked for Grumman Aerospace Corp. in Milledgeville for ten years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro, but more recently was attending the First United Methodist Church of Madison. She enjoyed flower gardening, baking, and caring for and being with her family.  She was also a fan of all college football.

Ms. Kitchens is survived by a daughter, Holly Copelan of Madison, GA; two sons, Bert Kitchens (Cathy) of Gray, GA and John Kitchens (Deanna) of Daphne, AL; grandchildren, Craig Copelan (Erin), Mitchell Copelan (Daniela), Andrew Kitchens, Scott Coates (Karen) and Christi Simmons (John); great grandchildren, Maeci Simmons, Bella Coates, Aiden Coates and Wesley Scott Coates, Jr.; siblings Claudette Miller (Loy), Janet McNair, Russell Power (Audrey) and Jere Power (Shelly).  She was preceded in death by an infant son and two sisters, Marjorie Evans and LaNeve Torrence.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at McCommons Chapel in Greensboro with Rev. Grady Mosley officiating. Interment will follow at Baldwin Memorial Gardens, 2896 N. Columbia Street, Milledgeville, GA 31061. Serving as pallbearers are John Simmons, Scott Coates, Albert Perera, Davis Bell, Billy Duvall and Wes Holt. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service Wednesday morning at McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642.
