Johnny B. Smith, Jr

Johnny B. Smith, Jr., age 53, of the Greshamville Community, died Sunday, October 8, 2006 at his residence. Born on March 2, 1953 in Canton, Georgia Johnny B. was the son of the late Johnny Bailey Smith, Sr. and Frances Owens Smith. After graduation from Cherokee County High School, he married Cathy Duvall in 1975. In the mid seventies he worked for the Greene County Sheriff''s Office for five years and then worked for the Georgia Forestry Commission for nineteen years. Johnny B. was a volunteer fireman for the Greshamville Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of San Marino Lodge #34, the 14th Georgia Light Artillery and Fork Chapel United Methodist Church in Greshamville.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Cathy Duvall Smith of the Greshamville Community; two brothers, Danny Smith and wife Debbie of Canton, GA and Robbie Henderson and wife Shannon of Canton, GA; and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at 2:00 p. m. at Fork Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Murphy and Rev. Danny Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Fork Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Billy Duvall, Will Duvall, John Duvall, Buddy Short, Jonathan Smith, Jody Owens, Wynn Copelan and Rex Dauler. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Carlton, Bill Moore, Josh Short, Trent Dauler, Hank Carlton, Win Corry, Kevin Roper and members of the 14th Georgia Light Artillery. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
