Johnny Bilbo Obituary

Johnny Ray Bilbo, age 78, of Greensboro, GA died Friday, November 5, 2010 at Greene Point Health & Rehabilitation in Union Point, GA. He was born on October 9, 1932 in Many, Louisiana to the late Ernest Lee Bilbo and Thelma Davis Bilbo. Ray graduated from high school in Magnolia, Arkansas and received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance at Southern Arkansas University. He worked as Controller for the State of Georgia Labor Department for 35 years. Ray moved to Greene County, GA seven years ago and owned and operated Nondi's Hilltop in Greensboro, GA, near Lake Oconee. In his free time, Ray enjoyed spending time with his family and loved hunting, fishing, his goat farm, and horseback riding.

Ray is survived by a sister, Jo Bilbo Thibodeaux of Lafayette, Louisiana; a daughter, Cindy Bilbo of Atlanta, GA; two sons, Johnny Bilbo and wife, Kitty, of Ossineke, MI and Greg Bilbo and wife, Jenny, of White Plains, GA; three grandchildren, Wendy and husband Jason Pettis, Leonard Ray Bilbo and wife Carrie, Loni and husband Cole Sumner; and, one great grandchild, Garrett Pettis, all of which reside in White Plains, GA; a number of other relatives and close friends. Ray was preceded in death by his brother, Lee Davis Bilbo.

Graveside Services will be held Friday, November 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, GA 30281 with Rev. Ralph Danson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday night at McCommons Funeral Home in Greensboro, GA. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Georgia Kids Hunting for a Cure, 1370 Howard Lewis Road, White Plains, GA 30678 or Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities, 795 Gatewood Rd, NE, Atlanta, GA 30329, Attn Linda Morris.
