John Joseph McGeary, III, 66, of Greensboro, GA, died suddenly at Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital on December 7, 2006. Born in Atlantic City and a frequent visitor to the Mays Landing home of his grandparents, the late John J. McGeary, Sr. and Adella Abbott McGeary, he was raised in Philadelphia. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama, served in the U.S. Army, and retired as Personnel Director for Wise-Hamlin Plastics of St. Charles, Illinois. He was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Alabama Crimson Tide. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro, GA.
Preceded in death by his father John J. McGeary, Jr., he will always be loved and sorely missed by his mother Barbara Costigan McGeary of Philadelphia; daughter, Maureen (Jeffrey) Krivo of Kennesaw, GA; fiance'', Rosalyn Thomas Dixon of Greensboro, GA; sister, Barbara A. Williams (George) of Feasterville, PA; brothers, Richard A. McGeary (Julia) of Hatfield, PA and Michael D. McGeary of Newmanstown, PA; grandson, Jared Krivo; nieces, Susan Nash, Jennifer Cerciello, Kate McGeary, and Meghan McGeary, and nephew, Stephen Hiltebeitel.
Relatives and friends are invited to his services Monday, December 11, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, NJ where a viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Mays Landing.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of John J. McGeary, III to the "Alumni Fund" and mailed to the Alabama Alumni Association, P.O. Box 861928, Tuscaloosa, AL 35486.
