James Lewis Hawks
John Lewis “Johnnie” Hawks, 86, of Twin City, GA formerly of Greensboro, GA, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Twin View Health Care Center in Twin City, GA. He was born in Greensboro, GA on August 21, 1931 to the late Clark Hawk and Ocie Mae Dye Bradley. He graduated from Greensboro High School and served his country in the United States Air Force. Johnnie worked for Enterprise Aluminum Company in Eatonton, GA for many years and retired from Chipman Union in Union Point, GA as a machinist. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed cutting grass and being outside with his dog, Penny. He also enjoyed watching television.
He is survived by his wife, Dora Hawks of Greensboro, GA; sister, Edna Muse of Winder, GA; two brothers, Gene Bradley of Greensboro, GA and Dr. Harold Bradley of Kerrville, TX. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Melvin Bradley, Jeanette Osborne and Roy Bradley.
Graveside Services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Greensboro City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Robert Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time for the service at the funeral home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
