John Edward Hartwell

John Edward Hartwell of Buckhead, GA, died on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Athens Regional Medical Center. Son of the late John William Hartwell and Janie Lou Gleaton Hartwell, he was born on May 20, 1954, in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Brown High School in Atlanta and after high school worked for Kroger. He was presently employed by Kroger where he had worked for thirty-two years and was the Head Dairy Clerk. He enjoyed Nascar racing and was a fan of the Atlanta Braves. He had lived in Buckhead for the last two years moving from Atlanta.

He is survived by his daughter, Sonia Christina Collier and husband Weldon of Buckhead, GA; a son, Heath Hartwell and wife Jennifer of Bethlehem, GA; three sisters, Mary Hartwell of Riverdale, GA, Dorothy Ginn and husband Tony of Morrow, GA and Tina Thomas of Jonesboro, GA; three brothers, Henry Hartwell of McDonough, GA, Harold Hartwell and wife Teresa of Senoia, GA and Roger Hartwell of Fairburn, GA; two grandchildren, Judson Hartwell and Elizabeth Collier; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. at the McCommons Chapel with Rev. Robert Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. prior to the service at McCommons Funeral Home in Greensboro. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
