John Carver, Jr Obituary

John Ray Carver, Jr., 68, of Greensboro, GA, formerly of Louisville, KY passed away on September 8, 2013 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Glasgow, KY on October 11, 1944, he was the son of the late John Ray Carver, Sr. and William Hazel Ferguson Carver. He received a Master''s Degree in Education from Western Kentucky University. On March 17, 1983 he married the former Cynthia Warrene Harding in Louisville, KY. A lifelong educator, he taught for twenty-nine years at Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville, KY and twelve years at Greene County Public Schools in Greensboro, GA. After retiring from teaching, he was elected to the Greene County Board of Education. He loved motorcycle riding and attended many motorcycle events across the United States. John and his wife Cindy moved to Greene County in 1995.

In addition to his wife, Cindy Carver of Greensboro, GA, he is survived by two daughters, April Rizzo of Tallahassee, FL and Angela Marcum of Louisville, KY; a son, J. R. Carver of Greensboro, GA; five grandchildren, Bailey, Brookln, Max, Olivia and Nate; and many friends.

The family will receive friends on, Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the family''s home.
