Joanne Lewis McNair, age 76, of the Ila Community near Danielsville, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Georgia.  Born on October 18, 1938 in Sparta, Georgia she was the daughter of the late Christine Sargent Lewis and Joe Lewis.  After graduating from Sparta High School, she worked as a clerk for Webster’s Pharmacy in Sparta and was a homemaker.  She was of the Baptist Faith, enjoyed reading, traveling, camping and cooking.  She could make some of the best banana pudding and chocolate cake you ever put in your mouth.  She was a very caring and giving person whose greatest joy was doing for others and she was loved by many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Oliver McNair in 2009; a son, Tim Brazell; a daughter that died at birth; and a stepson, Leahman Rance “Mack” McNair.  She is survived by a stepson, Jackie Cicero “Junior” McNair, members of the McNair Family, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Siloam Cemetery, Church Street, Siloam, GA 30665 with Rev. Robert Robinson officiating.  Serving as pallbearers are Jimmy Harvey, Terrell Bryant, Edward McNair, Paul McNair, Jason Ferrier and Billy Mote.  Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy McNair, Albert McNair, Jr., Derrick Nursey, James McNair, Sr. and Don Sanders.  The family will receive friends at McCommons Funeral Home Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
