Joan Barbara Wallace Piller
Joan Barbara Wallace Piller, of Greensboro, GA, died Monday, March 27, 2017, at the age of 82 at her residence. Joan was born in New York City, NY on April 7, 1934, to the late Walter Francis Wallace and Kathleen Carney Wallace. She grew up in New York and attended high school and college there. She married Nicholas Gerard Piller on April 15 1972 enjoying 45 years together. For thirty-six years she worked as a supervisor for AT&T retiring in 1987. Joan was a faithful member of Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church in Greensboro after she moved to Lake Oconee from Titusville, FL thirteen years ago. She will be remembered best for her dedication to family, especially her husband, children and grandchildren who loved her deeply. Joan was passionate about football and her dogs. She also made porcelain dolls and was proud of her collection.
In addition to her husband, Nick Piller of Greensboro, GA, she is survived by her children, Barbara Koch and husband Regan of The Villages, FL, Gerard Andrew Piller and wife Donna of North Smithfield, RI and Deborah Stritt and husband Gus of Holiday, FL; grandchildren, Angie, AJ (Tiffany), Caitlin and Kristen (Christopher); three great grandchildren, Dessa, Brianna and August, other relatives and friends.
A funeral mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2017, at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Father Roberto Herrera officiating. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service, in the church’s Sacred Heart Social Hall.
