Jimmie Ledford Williams, 77, of Crawfordville, GA, died Sunday, January 20, 2008 at her home in Crawfordville. A lifelong resident of Taliaferro County she was born on April 5, 1930 to the late James Cowan Ledford and Claudine Stanford Ledford. She was a graduate of Alexander Stephens Institute in Crawfordville. From 1988 until 2004 she was an insurance agent with Farm Bureau. Mrs. Williams was a faithful member of Crawfordville Baptist Church for over fifty years. She was a leader of Girls Auxiliary, a Sunday school teacher, a member of WMU and Gleaners Sunday School Class and a director on the Rayle EMC Board from 1985 to present.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Edmond Williams. She is survived by two daughters, Dell W. McMullen of Columbus, GA and Rita W. Estes and husband George of McDonough, GA: a son, Wayne Williams and wife Pet of Crawfordville, GA; a sister, Jean Ricketson of Greenwood, SC; a brother, George Ledford and wife Carol of Crawfordville, GA; four grandchildren, Todd Williams Estes, Taylor Estes, Elisabeth Reddick and husband Daniel and Ginny Hudson; two great grandchildren, Mason Reddick and Abbie Reddick; and a host of friends and other relatives.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Crawfordville Baptist Church with Rev. John Autry officiating. Interment will follow at the Crawfordville Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Bobby Moore, Joey Rhodes, John Wilhelm, Robert Harold Kendrick, Charlie Taylor, Ken Bennett, Phil Brown, Jeff Paul and Ricky McCommons. Serving as honorary pallbearers are the directors of Rayle EMC. The family requests that any memorials be made to the Georgia Baptist Children''s Home, P. O. Box 329, Palmetto, GA 30268 or Crawfordville Baptist Church, P. O. Box 204, Crawfordville, GA 30631.
