Jewell Hubert Bryan

Jewell Hubert “Runt” Bryan, age 89, of Eatonton, GA died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 1, 1921 in Ficklin, Georgia to the late William Clark Bryan of Lumpkin County and Sarah Turner Bryan of Fanning County. He attended school in Union Point and married Sara Kate Cheatham on December 23, 1939. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Bryan worked for Southern Brassworks for twenty-five years and then for Keystone Metal in Greensboro retiring in 1978. They lived in Greshamville for thirty-five years before moving to Eatonton. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Sara Kate Cheatham Bryan; two daughters, Sandra Connor of Conyers, GA and Cindy Moore and husband Jimmy of Eatonton, GA; a son, Ron Bryan of Madison, GA; and a brother, Clarence Gordon Bryan of High Point, North Carolina; five grandsons, Greg Connor (Bethany), Daren Bryan (Linda), Kevin Bryan, Bryan Moore (Wansley) and Brent Moore (Heather); and eight great grandchildren, Amanda Barrell, Clint Connor, Chase Moore, McKenzie Moore, Mason Moore, Russell Bryan, Ava Bryan and Nathaniel Bryan; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Paul Bryan, Leon Bryan, Charlie Bryan, Clyde Bryan, Myrt Poss, Lola Bryan and Nancy Bryan. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, June 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel in Greensboro. A private interment will follow at a later date at the Greenlawn Cemetery, in Union Point, GA. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice Care Options, 811 N.
