Jesse James Wilson, Sr.
Jesse James Wilson, Sr. of Madison, GA, passed peacefully into eternal life on November 1, 2017 after a short illness. A lifelong resident of Morgan County Jesse was born to James G. (Red) Wilson and Fannie I. Mason Wilson on January 25, 1947. He joined Harmony Baptist Church at an early age. He did many different jobs, but enjoyed working on tractors and related equipment the most, before he became disabled. He loved to fish and hunt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, A. Tony Wilson and Jon Adrian Wilson. He is survived by his wife of fifty-one and half years, Mary E. Wilson of Madison, GA, three daughters, Cathy W. Slaughter (Jerry), Joy Wilson and friend Bill Hanson and Elizabeth Wilson; son, Jesse Wilson, Jr.; three grandsons, Gerald (Lisa), James and John Slaughter; a great granddaughter, Stella Slaughter; brother, James Wilson, Jr.; several sisters -in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church, 120 Harmony Church Road, Eatonton, GA 31024 with his cousin, Brother Dewey (Sonny) Mallory and Rev. Marvin Westbrook officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at the church. Interment will be in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Tommy Barnett, Gerald Slaughter, Randy Bryan, Chris Wilson, James Slaughter, John Slaughter, Russ Denham, Andrew Pittman, Perry Johnson and Scotty Watkins.
