Jesse Wesley “Heck” Harrison, age 89, of Crawfordville, GA, died Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Sunbridge of Atlanta Nursing Home. A lifelong resident of Crawfordville, GA, he was born on July 15, 1919, to the late Clarence Stephen Harrison and Susan Jane Colclough. He farmed with his uncle, Jesse Colclough, and then worked for the Department of Transportation for over twenty years. Mr. Harrison was a member of Crawfordville Baptist Church and a member of the Jimmy Waters Brotherhood. He was a past member of the Crawfordville City Council. He loved fishing and the outdoors and also enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews and all of his family.
He is survived by a sister, Marjorie Nell Harrison of Atlanta, GA; a brother, Robert Oscar Harrison and wife Elena of Atlanta, GA; nieces and nephews, William Harrison and wife Sandra, Carolyn Bradley and husband Bill, Lewis M. Harrison, Jr., Cathleen Coleman and husband Jon, Robanne Harrison, Connie Phillips and husband Ernie, Howard Harrison and wife Peggy, Stephen Harrison and wife Margaret, Celia Warrenfeltz and husband Alan and Beth Harrison; twelve great nieces and great nephews; and one great-great niece and four great-great nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by siblings, William Thomas Harrison, Lewis Milligan Harrison, Clarence Stephen Harrison, Jr., Howard Franklin Harrison; and a niece, Lucibeth Nesbit.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at the Crawfordville Baptist Church with Rev. John Autry officiating. Interment will follow in the Crawfordville Baptist Church Cemetery.
