Jeanette Vandiver Veale

Eula Jeanette Veale, age 82, of Mansfield, GA., died Monday, April 29, 2013 at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle, GA. Jeanette was born in Gainesville, GA on July 1, 1930, one of twelve children of the late Hoyt S. Vandiver, Sr. and Mary Lois Bryant Vandiver. She attended school at Meadowcrest and later Greensboro, High School. She married Walter Phelps Veale, Sr. on December 24, 1950. For a while she worked as a seamstress for Morgan Sportswear in Madison and was also a homemaker raising four children. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, baking and loved listening to music.

Jeanette was predeceased by her husband Walter Phelps Veale, Sr., who died in December of 2008; a sister, Betty Jo Patterson; and two brothers, Hoyt S. "June" Vandiver, Jr. and William Jarrell "Bodie" Vandiver. She is survived by her children, Patsy and Gary Mullins, Walter, Jr. and Sandra Veale, Wanda and Ronnie Almand and Sandra and Victor Chaffin; sisters, Kathryn and Walter Melson, Carolyn and Donald Batson, Linda Hutto; brothers, Thomas G. and Geraldine Vandiver, Louie L. and JoAnn Vandiver, Marion S. and Faye Vandiver, Jerry S. and Connie Vandiver, and Darrell J. and Kay Vandiver; grandchildren, Dena and Paul Astin, Dan Mullins, Todd and Candida Chaffin, Amber and Zachary McKibben, Katie and Chris Bragg, Ginger and Adam Howard, Ronald Almand, Allison Veale, Matthew Veale, Alex Almand and Bethany Veale; great grandchildren, Christopher Astin, Tyler Astin, Taylor Chaffin, Belany Calderon, Hunter Howard, Matthew Astin, Levi Chaffin, Hayden Howard, Presley Bragg, Ollie Bragg, Lailie Bragg , Nathan Bragg and Ally Howard; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Sewell United Methodist Church, 1660 Sewell Church Road, Mansfield, GA 30055 with Rev. Charles Watson, Jr. officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Ronald Almand, Alex Almand, Matt Veale, Todd Chaffin, Dan Mullins and Adam Howard.
