Jean Holtzclaw Hadden, age 72, of Greensboro, GA died Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at her residence. One of four children she was born in Whitfield County on September 14, 1931 to the late Oscar Holtzclaw and Ethel Ophelia Fulton Holtzclaw. She graduated from Dalton High School and after graduating worked as a Registered Dietician at Providence Healthcare in Madison and Greene Point Nursing Center in Union Point. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro where she was a leader in AWANA, served on the kitchen committee and was a member of the Amicus Sunday School Class.
Survivors included her husband of fifty-three years, Quenton C. Hadden of Greensboro, GA; two daughters, Elaine H. Courtney and husband Michael of Athens, GA and Denise H. Channell and husband Brian of Greensboro, GA; five grandchildren, Keith Channell, Joshua Channell, Seth Channell, Michelle Courtney and Jaime Courtney; one great grandchild, Ta'' Courtney; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sister, Troy F. Holtzclaw, Horrace Odell Holtzclaw and Velma Holtzclaw Thompson.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Greensboro with Rev. Lem Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Greensboro City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Bob Voyles, Matt Finch, Charlton Veazey, Bob Beeland, Jay Beeland and Charles Copelan. The family requests that any memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605.
