Jean Dolvin Obituary

Jean Miller Dolvin, age 84, of Greensboro, Georgia, died Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Greene Point Health Care Center in Union Point. Born in Hall County on May 26, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Dr. William Harwell Miller, Sr. and Annie Hope Miller. She graduated from Gainesville High School in 1941, North Georgia College in 1943 and Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville in 1945. Mrs. Dolvin was the Director of Community Services for Greene County for twenty-two years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro.

She is survived by three sons, James Boswell "Jimmy" Dolvin, Jr. and wife Cheryl of Siloam, GA, William Robert "Bobby" Dolvin and wife Teresa of Watkinsville, GA and Ralph Leonard "Len" Dolvin and wife Janice of Blairsville, GA; ten grandchildren, James Boswell Dolvin III and wife Kimberly, Crystal Brown, Averi Caruthers and husband Grant, Dee Dolvin, William Robert Dolvin, Jr., Christopher Dolvin, Cindi Dolvin, Nancy Acevedo and husband Matt, Jenny Dalton and husband Stacy and Kay Lynn Dolvin; twelve great grandchildren, Ingrid Dolvin, Amelia Dolvin, Delainey Brown, Reagan Caruthers, Tatum Caruthers, Kaleb Acevedo, Jacob Acevedo, Tristan Acevedo, Caitlin Fleeman, Ashley Dalton, Tyler Dalton and Chase Dalton; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Harwell Miller, Jr.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 11:00 p.m. at Alta Vista Cemetery, 521 Jones Street, Gainesville, GA with Rev. Dr. Jim Choomack officiating. Serving as pallbearers are James Boswell Dolvin, III, William Robert Dolvin Jr., Christopher Dolvin, Matt Acevedo, Grant Caruthers and Stacy Dalton. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Moore, Harold Wilson, Erwin Gettys, Andrew Boswell, Bill Corry and Mell Marchman. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday night at the funeral home.
