Janice Ruth Meeler Davis

Janice Ruth Meeler Davis, age 56, of Watkinsville, GA, died Saturday, April 8, 2006. She was born October 7, 1949 in Athens, GA to Ralph Mason Meeler of New Ellenton, SC and the late Edith Camilla Taylor Meeler. She graduated from Aiken High School in South Carolina and was an honor graduate from Central Texas College in Killeen with a Bachelor of Nursing Degree. After eighteen years of dedicated service, Janice retired in 1998 from St. Mary''s Hospital. She initially worked with newborns, but discovered a special place in her heart for the elderly which lead her to spending the last ten years of her career in the home health care field. Janice was also an active member of Ashford Memorial Methodist Church in Watkinsville, GA. Throughout her lifetime, Janice''s outpouring of love and devotion was demonstrated in the community, as well as to her patients and their families, which often lead to her being referred to as an "Angel". She is survived by her husband, George Bert Davis of Watkinsville, GA, with whom she spent thirty-seven wonderful years of marriage; a daughter, Dana Celeste Davis of Snellville, GA; a son, Andrew Ryan Davis of Athens, GA; a sister, Lynn M. Nelson and husband Larry of Aiken, SC and two brothers, Ronald H. Meeler and wife Ida of New Ellenton, SC and Kenneth T. Meeler and wife Beth of Aiken, SC; an uncle, Wayne Taylor and wife Betty of White Plains, GA; an aunt, Ann Cook and husband Lewis of Washington, GA; five nieces, Kelly Nelson of Charleston, SC, Kimberly Owens, Hope Meeler, Brianna Meeler, Brooke Meeler, all of Aiken, SC; a nephew, Ben Nelson of Aiken, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, April 10, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Thomas Cochran officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at White Plains Baptist Church.
