Janette Wilkins Jones

Janette Wilkins Jones, age 78, of Eatonton, Georgia, died Monday, October 6, 2003. A native of Oxford, Alabama, she was born January 19, 1925 to the late Robert Wilkins and Espy Little Wilkins. After graduating from Calhoun County High School in Oxford, AL, she worked as a detail clerk for the Veterans Administration in Decatur, GA before retiring in 1986. She lived in Eatonton for the last 19 years and volunteered as a Pink Lady at Putnam General Hospital. She was an active member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church in Eatonton. A beloved wife and mother, she dedicated her life to her family and will be greatly missed by all. A  She is survived by her husband, Dorsey V. Jones Jr. of Eatonton, GA; two daughters, Vicki Turner and husband Dan of Eatonton, GA and Tinsley Baker and husband Mark of Snellville, GA; two sons, Matt Jones of Thomasville, GA and Malcolm Jones of Thomasville, GA; four grandchildren, Colin Baker, Chris Baker, Sarah Jones and Austin Jones; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by all of her siblings. A  Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Philadelphia United Methodist Church in Eatonton with Rev. Ben Strength officiating. Burial Services will be held at Hollywood Cemetery in Tallapoosa, GA on Sunday, October 12, 2003 at 2:00 p.m, relatives and friends are encouraged to attend. The family requests that any memorials be made to the Philadelphia United Methodist Church, Kitchen Fund, 264 New Phoenix Road NE, Eatonton, GA 31024. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
