Jane Smith Obituary

Jane Liggett Smith, age 83, of Greensboro, GA, formerly of Kingston, TN died May 20, 2005 at Greene Point Health Care Center in Union Point, GA. A native of Roane County, TN she was born on January 4, 1922 to the late Herbert Leon Liggett and Maude Hester Liggett. She was a graduate of Roane County High School in Kingston, TN. For eight years she was a clerk at the Election Commissions Office in Roane County and previously was a secretary at Three Rivers Insurance for many years. She was a member of the Kingston Presbyterian Church. She dearly loved doing things with her family and was very fond of animals of all kinds.

Survivors include a daughter, B. J. Collier and husband Tom of Greensboro, GA; a son Billy L. Smith and wife Ella Mae of Kingston, TN; a sister, Shirley Dunn of Decherd, TN; a granddaughter, Wendy Savage and husband John of Kingston, TN and a number of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Smith and two brothers, Leo Liggett and Whitey Liggett.

Graveside Services will be held on Monday, May 23, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lawnville Cemetery in Kingston, TN with Rev. Donnie Hill officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon Monday at Kyker Funeral Home in Harriman, TN. Any memorials may be made to the Walker United Methodist Church, 2730 Walker Church Road, Greensboro, GA 30642. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
