James Steven Elm (Steve), 63, beloved husband of Robin Eggert Elm (nee Biedermann) of Greensboro, GA, passed away on April 14, 2019.
Steve was born in St. Paul, MN on December 2, 1955, to Joe and Audrey Elm. He was raised with his brother Mike and sister Patty (Multz). He grew up in St. Columba parish (“the Midway”), attended St. Agnes High School where he was active in numerous sports and clubs. He went on to St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN and graduated from the University of Minnesota. Steve and Robin were married on July 6, 2001.
Steve was an Executive with AT&T Wireless and Iron Mountain Corporation. His numerous community activities included the Optimists’ Club, coaching, Capital Cities Partnership, and the United Way. He loved hockey and was a loyal fan and supporter of the Minnesota Wild and the University of Minnesota Gophers.
After raising their five children in Eagan, MN, Steve and Robin moved full-time to Greensboro, GA. Steve became active in the Knights of Columbus where he was a Fourth Degree and served as Recorder and Membership Director. Above all, he was a loving husband, devoted father, and faithful friend. He truly was the guy with the smile who knew “everybody’s name.”
Steve is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Audrey; brother Michael; and son Austin. He is survived by his wife, Robin; four children - Laurel Audrey, Michael, Elliott, and Reagan Elm; his sister Patty; and many beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church on Monday, April 22nd, at 10:30 am with a luncheon reception following. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA 30642.
