Jim Wurtz, age 64, of Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, GA died on Monday, March 15, 2010 at Saint Joseph''s Hospital. He was born on March 12, 1946, in Cincinnati, OH to Marian and Carl Wurtz. He graduated from Archbishop Moeller High School in 1964 and the University of Dayton in 1968. He also received his MBA from Central Michigan University. He worked as an engineer for Ford Motor Company for 29 years before retiring in 2002. He and his wife, Karen, came to Reynolds Plantation from Farmington Hills, MI two years ago. He was an avid golfer, a member of the Reynolds Men''s Golf Association and a volunteer with the Rotary Club. He was a member of Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church.
In addition to his mother Marian Wurtz, he is survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Karen Wurtz; a daughter, Kelsey Wurtz of Chicago, IL; a son, James P. Wurtz of Kalamazoo, MI; a sister, Sandra Evans and husband Roger of Toledo, OH; two brothers, Kenneth Wurtz and wife Janet of Mokena, IL and Steven Wurtz and wife Bonnie of Cincinnati, OH; a sister-in-law, Joan Wurtz of Cincinnati, OH; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kathi Gruber and husband Mike of Detroit, MI; and Kevin Konat and wife Valerie of Eastpointe, MI; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his father, Carl Henry Wurtz, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Wurtz.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March, 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Our King & Savior Catholic Church in Greensboro, GA with Father G. Philip Ryan officiating.
