James Bennie Tripp, age 66, of Greensboro, Georgia, died Friday, March 11, 2005 at his residence. A lifelong resident of Greene County he was born December 7, 1938 to the late L. B. Tripp and Julia Marie Hutchinson Tripp. James was a 1957 graduate of Floyd T. Corry High School. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was the owner and operator of Tripp''s Plumbing and Electrical and worked for Alcan for seventeen years.
He is survived by his wife of forty three years, Naomi Reid Tripp of Greensboro, GA; two daughters, Kendell T. Moon & husband Lon of Canton, GA and Brandi T. Nesbitt and husband Derrick of Lawrenceville, GA; two sons, Reginald Tripp and wife Quila of Crawfordville, GA and Roderick Tripp and wife Dawn of Lafayette, LA; three sisters, Hazel Hunter and husband Willie of Greensboro, GA, Dorothy Hall and husband Carl of Atlanta, GA and Marie Brown and husband Joseph of Atlanta, GA; two brothers Willie Tripp and wife Olivia of Greensboro, GA and George Tripp and wife Rosalyn of College Park, GA; seven grandchildren, Reginald Hill, Jennifer Tripp, Brittany Tripp, Cierra Tripp, Roderick Tripp Jr., Justin Moon and Tavares Tripp; a special friend that was like a daughter, Gladys Tripp of Greensboro, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 14, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Omer Reid officiating. Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Reginald Hill, Marcus Tripp, Alton Collins, Roy Moon, Carl Hall and Victor Rivers.
