James David “Jimmy” Lewis III, age 73, of Siloam, GA, died Friday, January 23, 2015 at Providence Health and Rehabilitation in Sparta, GA. Mr. Lewis was born on July 30, 1941 to the late Bradie Mae Reese and James David “Sam” Lewis, Jr. Mr. Lewis attended Greensboro High school and after high school served two years in the United States Army. He went to work at Feldspar Mining Corp. as a miner and retired in 2000 after over 30 years on the job. His favorite pastime was any kind of hunting.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Lewis. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jenny Butts (Jason) of Sparta, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, John Lewis (Rhonda) of Cartersville, GA and Joey “Bootsie” Lewis (Anita) of Siloam, GA; grandchildren, Garrett Butts, Haley Butts, Madison Lewis, Tyler Lewis, Trevor Lewis, Taylor Lewis and Skie Lewis; sister-in-law, Miriam Lewis who was so good and helped him so much.
Funeral Service will be held Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel, 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Jerry Bradley officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Siloam Cemetery, Church Street, Siloam, GA 30665. Serving as pallbearers are Allen Askew, William Coleman, Johnny Lewis, Wayne Taylor, Keith James, and Randy James. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
