James Carlton Jordan, age 79, of Greensboro, Georgia, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at his residence. On September 1, 1933 he was born in Somerville, TN to the late Charlie Jordan and the late Clara Price Jordan. He graduated from Somerville High School in Somerville, TN and Airline Training School in Kansas, MO. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On March 21, 1954 he married the former Betty Jean Davis at the First Baptist Church in Bolivar, TN. For thirty-seven years he worked for Delta Airlines as General Manager of Ground Operations retiring in January of 1993. In September of 1999 they moved from Conyers, GA to Lake Oconee in Greensboro. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed working in his yard.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Betty Jean Davis Jordan, of Greensboro, GA; daughters, Carol Jordan of Porterdale, GA and Gina Staples (Terry) of Stockbridge, GA; sister, Franchelle Danjo (Orvind) of Humboldt, TN; four grandchildren, Luke Staples (Adrian), Clint Staples, Mark Bowen (Sarah) and Jordan Bowen; two great grandchildren, Mason Bowen and Madison Bowen; several nieces, nephews and a number of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Jordan and his son-in-law, Joseph Blasingame.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel in Greensboro with Rev. Rick Hermann officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p. m. until time for the service Sunday afternoon. The family requests that any memorials be made to The American Heart Association, P. O.
