James Huth Obituary

James W. Huth

James W. Huth, age 64, of Eatonton, GA passed away suddenly Monday, May 13, 2019 at Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Born on June 15, 1954 in Lakewood, OH, but raised in Berea, OH, he was the son of the late William Roderick Huth and Edna Postich Huth. He graduated from Berea High School in 1972 and later received an associate degree from Cleveland State University in 1984. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1972 to 1975. James married the former Beth Brown on March 7, 1981 in Westfield Center, OH. In 1985 he started Camney Service & Supply a successful business that he owned and operated for 34 years. He was a member of Westfield Country Club, Cuscowilla Country Club and Citrus Hills Country Club. He was also an Elk & Eagle.

He enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing, grilling ribs, deep frying every food group, drinking potato juice from a red cup and spending time with and harassing his friends and family.

Jim was known by many names: Zippy, Bubba, Heem, Jimbo, and Big Jim to name a few. His favorite names though were Dad to his children and Pops to his Grandkids.

Jim will long be remembered for his larger than life personality, his irreverent sense of humor, and his ability to “Huthanize” his friends and family. His only life goal not met was being on medicare. We will forever love and miss you Poodle Head RIP.

In addition to his wife of thirty-eight years, Beth Huth of Eatonton, GA, he is survived by two children, Whitney (Mark) Pomeroy of Atlanta, GA and Cameron Huth of Pompano Beach, FL; sister, Pam Huth of Barberton, OH; grandchildren, Landon Huth of Eatonton, GA, Olivia and Owen Pomeroy of Atlanta, GA and Peyton Huth of Boca Raton, FL; sisters-in-law Sue (Dave) Bird of Grand Rapids, MI, Debbie (Dave) Nungesser of Eatonton, GA and Jane (Bob) Hyland of Phoenixville, PA; nieces and nephews, Jim Huth, Kate (Jessica) Huth, Jennifer Gaul, Jason (Christa) Bird, Jonathon (Gretchen) Bird, Jeff (Courtney) Bird, Ashley (Kane) McGukin, Meghan (Tommy) Burke, John (Liz) Hyland, Brian (Amy) Hyland and Kevin Hyland; numerous great nieces, nephews, lifelong friends; and his beloved dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Robert and Ann Brown and 9 dogs and a cat.

A private family burial will be held at a later date in Ohio at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio. McCommons Funeral Home ,109 W.
