James Bechtol Obituary

James Bryan “Jim” Bechtol, age 25, of Villa Rica, GA, died Friday, November 9, 2007 at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica from a motorcycle accident. Born in Clayton County, Georgia on November 19, 1981, he was the son of Alan L. Bechtol and Sheila Bryan Bechtol of Covington, GA. In 2000 he graduated from Morgan County High School. After high school he entered the Marine Corps and was stationed in Okinawa Japan for a year and served in Iraq for nine months. His last two years were served at the Naval Air Station in Atlanta. After serving his country he became a Field Service Technician for Eaton Corporation. He had numerous talents working on cars, woodworking, doing home improvements and playing the guitar and drums. A big sports fan he enjoyed keeping up with football especially the Georgia Bulldogs and loved to hunt. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and had begun rebuilding an old Mustang. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Amy Conner Bechtol of Villa Rica, GA; a three year old daughter, Hailey Renee Bechtol of Villa Rica, GA; a two year old son, Christopher James Bechtol of Villa Rica, GA; a brother, Andrew Alan Bechtol and wife Nicole of Covington, GA; maternal grandmother, Mildred Bryan of Covington, GA; paternal grandmother, Helen M. Bechtol of Madison, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 12, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Walker United Methodist Church in Greensboro with Rev. Russell Nuss and Rev. John Pike officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. Serving as pallbearers are Andrew Bechtol, William R. Racine, Colin Russell, Kevin Hennings, Jeb S. Zeigler, Alan Gordan, Steven Harrison, Patrick Erbacher and Matthew Geiger.
