James Albert Bryan

James Albert Bryan, age 91, of Greensboro, GA died Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville, GA. Born on February 26, 1921 in Greensboro, Georgia, he was the son of the late William Albert Bryan and Nora Wood Bryan. He received his high school diploma in 1946 after his time in the army. James married Dorothy Louise German on April 26, 1947. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. His career began as a District Manager for the Atlanta Journal Constitution where he worked for twenty-five years retiring in 1982. He then worked for the Greensboro Post Office as a substitute carrier from 1983 to 1990 and also worked with Roscoe Jarrard at his Greensboro Full Service Gas Station and Jarrard''s Gas Station in Siloam. James was a member of Walker United Methodist Church of Greensboro, the VFW Adams-Walker Post #4259 and the American Legion. He always enjoyed watching baseball.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Louise German Bryan in May of 1991 and a brother, Jesse Goodwin Bryan, Sr. in March of 2012. He is survived by two daughters, Jane Bryan Morgan and husband Charles of White Plains, GA and Barbara Ann Meeks of Greensboro, GA; three grandchildren, William Craig Morgan of White Plains, GA; Donna Lynn Thomas and husband Andrew of Greensboro, GA and James Coleman Meeks of Greensboro, GA; a sister, Carolyn Taylor of Warner Robins, GA; two brothers, Robert Bryan of Monroe, GA and Lester Bryan of Lawrenceville, GA; and a dear friend, Willie Mae Sisson of Union Point, GA; a number of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Dennis Garner officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Jeff Bryan, Goodwin Bryan, Jr., Robbie Bryan, Tommy Bryan, Buddy Bufford, Jon Dyar and Ben Askew. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday night at McCommons Funeral Home. The family requests that any memorials be made to Nathanael Greene Academy, P. O.
