Jack was born June 17, 1945 to the late Runie and Geneva Cargile Tomlin in Porterdale, GA. On June 6, 1967 he married Margarette Sue Nobles with whom he had four children and 15 grandchildren.
He attended school in Covington as a child and graduated from Newton County High School in 1963. He furthered his education at Tennessee Temple University and Seminary in Chattanooga, TN. He later became the Director of Georgia Christian Education Association and Christian Heritage Home School Academy until his death. Most recently he was the Assistant Pastor at Bethel Baptist Church of Greensboro, GA serving with his son, Pastor Robert Tomlin.
He loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren, and serving his Lord. He loved old cars, mostly Fords between the years of 1954 and 1956 and was very good with his hands doing auto restoration and woodworking.
