Jack Peterson Obituary

Jack Albert Peterson, 74, of Greensboro, Georgia died Wednesday, January 16, 2002 at Athens Regional Medical Center. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 28, 1927 to the late Harry F. Peterson Sr. and Helen Ursula Henthorne Peterson. He lived in Greensboro since 1994. He graduated from Amundsen High School of Chicago in 1945 and served in the Navy during WWII. He was a member of Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church of Greensboro and Alexander-Bradley-Burns American Legion of Downers Grove, Illinois. He retired from Magnaflux Corporation of Chicago in 1984 where he worked as a Mechanical Engineer for 42 years.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Louise Kleespies Peterson; two daughters, Kathleen Maendler & husband James of Woodstock, Georgia and Barbara Manley & husband Burke of Lisle, Illinois; one son, Randy Peterson & wife Valera of Springfield, Illinois; one brother, Harry F. Peterson, Jr. & wife Pat of Elk Grove Village, Illinois; and six grandchildren Matthew Maendler, Michelle Maendler, Darryn Manley, Brooke Manley, Rachelle Peterson and Austin Peterson.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church with Father Patrick Kingery officiating. Burial will be at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois. The family requests that memorials be made to Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church Building Fund, 6341 Eatonton Highway, Greensboro, GA 30642. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Broad St., Greensboro, GA, (706) 453-2626, is in charge of arrangements.
