Jack Walter Branyan, age 71, of Monticello, died Thursday, September 22, 2011, at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin. Jack Branyan was born in Greensboro, Georgia to the late Walter Branyan and Marie Howell Branyan. He served in the U.S. Army. Jack lived in Eatonton for a number of years before moving to Monticello 21 years ago. Before retirement, Jack was a manager for the Lakeview Restaurant at Lake Oconee.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Pope Branyan of Monticello; son, Lance Branyan, U.S. Army, of Augusta, currently stationed in Korea; daughters, Julie Davis of Buford, Tracey Laux of White Plains, and Jenny Yearwood of Maxeys; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Nita Askew of Eatonton; and brother, Dickie Branyan of Madison.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 26, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of McCommons Funeral Home in Greensboro. Burial will be held in the Greenview Cemetery in Greensboro. Harry Hudson will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September, 25, 2011, at McCommons Funeral Home in Greensboro.
