Hugh Dover Moore, 64, of Greensboro, Georgia, formerly of the Macedonia Community in Oglethorpe County, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at his son''s home in Gray. Hugh was born March 1, 1944 in Oglethorpe County, GA to Mae Sue Dover Moore of Greensboro, Georgia and the late Elmer Gordon Moore, Sr. Hugh attended Oglethorpe County High School and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. After high school, he worked on a farm and then worked for Waynes Feed. Later he owned a poultry and cattle farm and worked for Flowers, Inc. His most recent job was operating machines at Nibco in Greensboro. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his mother, Mae Sue Dover Moore, he is survived by a son, Randy Pete Moore and his fiance'' Abby Bell and children Shawn Bell and Landon Joel Carroll of Gray, Georgia; two sisters, Joyce Beale and husband Sam of Tucker, Georgia and Polly Hatfield and husband Robert of Birmingham, Alabama; a brother, Gordon Moore and wife Deborah of Hartwell, Georgia; a sister-in-law, Jacquelyn Moore of Lavonia, Georgia; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Warren Aubrey Moore.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Hatfield officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Gordon Moore, Sam Beale, Brian Moore, Buddy Moore, Charles Crumbley, Haywood Crumbley and Mike Turner. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
