Horace Howard Peters, age 59, of Madison, GA died Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at his daughters home with his family surrounding him. A native of Morgan County, he was born on March 21, 1944 to the late Carl William Peters and Floy Adair Wilson Peters. He was a farmer most of his life and worked at Shepherd''s Farm.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Shirley Poss Peters Tate of Greensboro, GA; a daughter, Amy Peters Leach of the Liberty Community in Greene County; three sons, Howard Peters and wife Pearl of Greensboro, GA, Justin Brian Peters of Greensboro, GA and John Curtis Peters of Greensboro, GA; a stepdaughter, Donna Poss Smith of Union Point, GA; four sisters, Mary Peters of Rutledge, GA, Carolyn Peters of Rutledge, GA, Elaine Hanson and husband Gary of Walnut Grove, GA and Lisa Peters of Madison, GA; a brother, David Peters of Rutledge, GA; an uncle, Roy Wilson of Apalachee, GA; nine grandchildren, Amber Leach, Marcus Leach, Aaron Peters, Kyle Peters, Heather Peters, Beth Silvey, Brittany Silvey, Rick Silvey and Brandon Silvey; three great grandchildren; five nieces; five nephews; and a number of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carlton Peters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 5, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Prospect Methodist Church in Fairplay, GA with Rev. Blake McNutt officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Poss, John Beal, Billy Poss, Eddie Mathis, Richard Ferguson, Scott Love and Andrew Bechtol.
