Hettie H. Copelan

Mrs. Hettie Copelan went to be with God January 24, 2005 at Riverchase Health Center in Birmingham, Alabama.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 27 at Sparta Baptist Church in Sparta, GA. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Rev. Jerry Bradley and Rev. Harold Lyda officiating. A short graveside ceremony will follow at Siloam Cemetery in Siloam, GA.

Mrs. Copelan was born May 28, 1919 in Trenton, GA. She had a brother, Aaron Hubble and a sister, Agnes Lee. She was married to Dillard Copelan until his death in 1990. Mrs. Copelan worked as the Office Manager for the Sparta Furniture Company, which she cofounded with her brother and husband. She also worked with the Department of Family and Children''s Services. Mrs. Copelan is a long time member of Sparta Baptist Church and was a loving mother, wife and friend.

Survivors include three sons, Victor Copelan and his wife Connie, Ronald Copelan and Richard Copelan and his wife Lynn; five grandchildren, Noel Copelan and his wife Celine, Kate Copelan, Michael Copelan, Jason Hanges and Ericka Krupka.
