Hazel Moore Turner

Hazel Moore Turner, age 84, of the Macedonia Community, died Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at St. Joseph''s Hospital in Augusta. Born September 29, 1920 in Greene County she was the daughter of the late Durward Elmer Moore and Pauline Price Moore. She graduated from Maxeys High School in Maxeys and attended Business School in Dacula, GA. During her working career she worked for Harvey McDonald at McDonald''s Dry Goods in Union Point and partnered with him to open McDonald''s Dress Shop in Greensboro. Later she became the owner and operated it until 1985. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and a member of Eastern Star. A  She is survived by a son, Michael Turner and wife Sandi of Thomson, GA; two brothers, Ralph Alvin Moore of the Macedonia Community and Durward "Bobby" Moore of Corsicana, TX; three grandsons, William Brad Turner and wife Mica of Crawford, GA, Jay Turner and wife Shonda of Arnoldsville, GA and Mark Turner and wife Tabitha of Winterville, GA; six great grandchildren, Carson Turner, Logan Turner, Emily Turner, Lauren Turner, McKenzie Turner and Marina Turner; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Yvonne Turner and a son, Paul Edward Turner, Jr.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenview Cemetery with Rev. Joel Sorrow officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Buddy Moore, Wesley Price, Gordon Moore, Troy Bohannon, Shane Moore and Gary Moore. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home. Any memorials may be made to St. Joseph''s Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904-4726.
