Hazel McElhannon Lindsey

Hazel McElhannon Lindsey, 55, of Greensboro, Georgia died Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. A lifelong resident of Greene County, she was born April 16, 1948 in Oglethorpe County to the late Carl Cornelius McElhannon and Lillian Young McElhannon. She attended Greene County Schools and the Holiness Church. She was a winder for Wellington Puritan Mills in Greensboro for 23 years.

She is survived by her husband Terry Lee Lindsey Sr. of Greensboro, GA; five sons, Casey Lindsey, Ernie Lindsey, Terry Lindsey Jr. and Jonathan Lindsey all of Greensboro, GA and Stanley Lindsey and wife Rebecca of Madison, GA; five sisters, Jane Cason and husband George of Greensboro, GA, Sarah Anne Hall and husband Mike of Union Point, GA, Victoria McDaniel of Winder, GA, Kathy McElhannon of Porterdale, GA and Connie Scarborough and husband Ed of Elberton, GA; two brothers, "Buddy" McElhannon of Winder, GA and Terry McElhannon and wife Shirley of Winder, GA; two grandchildren, Charles Stanley "C. J." Lindsey Jr. and Jessica Lindsey of Madison, GA; and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Johnny Barrett officiating. Interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Keith Hagwood, Scott Channell, Bruce Hall, Jerry Woods, Adam Hester and Glen Canup Jr. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday night at the Funeral Home.
