Hazel Burnette Lewis, age 81, of Greensboro, Georgia, died Monday, March 10, 2003 at Greene Point Health Care Center. A native of Greene County, she was born January 15, 1922 to the late Luther T. Burnette and Etta Belle Massey Burnette. She graduated from Emory University School of Nursing and was a registered nurse. She had worked as plant nurse for the General Motors Assembly Plant at Lakewood and as the patient care coordinator for Wesley Woods Nursing Home in Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Ancil Lewis Sr. and a son James Ancil Lewis Jr. She is survived by three sons, Thomas Terrell Lewis of Charlotte, NC, Jack Edward Lewis of Watkinsville, GA and Ted Burnette Lewis of Monroe, GA; a sister, Frances Burnette Thurmond of Tucker, GA; and 5 grandchildren.
Private memorials services will be held at a later date at the family farm.
