Hallie Cook Davison of Woodville, Georgia, died on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the age of 85. Hallie was born in Sandersville, GA on November 25, 1927 the daughter of the late Lum Herd "L.H." and Willie Mae Edgar Cook. As a child she attended school in Woodville and graduated from Union Point High School. After high school, she attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, GA. She served as the payroll clerk for Union Manufacturing Company in Union Point and later owned and operated Hallie''s Dress Shop in Union Point and Woodville. On May 15, 1992, she married Julian Davison of Woodville, GA. She was a member of Woodville Baptist Church and a member of the Greene County Country Club. Hallie was an avid bridge player, taught Sunday School at the Baptist Church and an active member of the Woodville Volunteer Fire Department Women''s Auxiliary. She also enjoyed golfing, gardening, painting and sewing.
She is survived by her husband, Julian Davison of Woodville, GA; a son, Johnny O''Neal and wife Karen of Wauchula, FL; brother, Ret. Col. Richard R. Cook and wife Grace of Woodville, GA; grandson, John Hill O''Neal and wife Caroline of Eatonton, GA; granddaughter, Katie O''Neal-Jackson and husband Steve of Tampa, FL; two great grandchildren, Lyda O''Neal and Merrill Lash; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Eudene Cook Hill.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodville Baptist Church, 1191 Peachtree Avenue E., Woodville, GA 30669 with Rev. Farrett Boswell and Dr. Terry Duvall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Lanier Rhodes, Jimmy Scott, Kevin Smith, Russell Brock, James Hunt and John Hill O''Neal. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m at Callaway Funeral Home in Union Point.
