Gregory Alan Walker

Gregory Alan Walker of Athens, Georgia, passed away Monday, December 16, 2013 at his residence at the age of 54.  Born in Atlanta, GA on September 16, 1959, he was the son of Lucy Elizabeth Carnes Walker of Greensboro, GA and the late James Edward Walker.  He graduated from Norcross High School and the Atlanta Art Institute.  During his working career, he was a graphic artist for Ebasco Services Inc. in Atlanta.  His hobbies were fishing and collecting artifacts.
 
He is survived by his mother, Lucy Walker of Greensboro, GA; two brothers, Michael Walker and his wife Pamela of Kennesaw, GA and Mark Walker of Auburn, GA; a niece, Sarah Walker; a number of other relatives and friends.
 
Funeral Services will be held, Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Mike Pritchett and Rev. Tom Dial officiating.  Interment will follow in the Greenview Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Greensboro, Georgia  30642.  Serving as pallbearers are Larry Walker, Steve Dial, Alan Ward, Gene Chatham, Billy Hawkins, and Ray Ward.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
